Consultation document: 'Standards of Care for Women with a Vulval Condition'
Care for patients with vulval disease should be of a high quality and be equitable. Standards for vulval disease should be developed:
- to improve the quality of care to patients (all levels of care);
- to help enhance (and help set up) vulval services in different Trusts;
- to justify current levels of care, and
- for advising clinical commissioners.
We have developed a document outlining standards of care for women with a vulval condition for BSSVD membership discussion and ratification, and now invite your comments.
The standards are intended for use in any service that provides care for women with a vulval problem from primary through to tertiary level care. They bring together best practice and existing guidance, provide a template for existing and planned services and aim to meet the needs of commissioners of services in a changing NHS. Various stakeholders have contributed.
We would invite your comments on the standards, which can be downloaded from the BSSVD website using this link:

The consultation period ends on 1 June 2012.
