Persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD) is a condition of frequent, unprovoked genital arousal associated with a signficant level of distress. PGAD is not well understood by the medical profession and no definitive cause has been determined. Many women with PGAD have vulvodynia/vulval pain and there are many overlaps in the management of both conditions.

PGAD was featured in an article in the Guardian newspaper in April 2014.
